Subtitling

Subtitling involves adding subtitles (i.e., text) to a video or audio track in order to make it accessible for people with hearing disabilities or who experience difficulties understanding spoken language.

Subtitles are synchronized with audio and show dialog and other important sounds so that the content can be understood. Not only can this provide accessibility to a broader audience, but it can also be useful in situations where the audio volume is low or inaudible, such as noisy environments or when users decide to watch a video without sound.

Simply put, subtitling can make video and audience content more accessible for a wide range of users.
